Celebrate National Library Week with us as BML presents an Indie Lens Pop-Up screening of The Librarians followed by a panel discussion with The Intellectual Freedom Committee of the Nassau County Library Association. Indie Lens Pop-Up is a community series that brings people together for film screenings and conversations. For 20 years, Indie Lens Pop-Up has featured documentaries seen on PBS’s Independent Lens and connected local residents, leaders, and organizations to discuss what matters most.

The Intellectual Freedom Committee of NCLA has been in operation for over thirty years. The Committee deals with issues such as censorship, media banning, privacy, confidentiality, and socio-economic factors that impact access to information and the right of the public to know.
