Martin Scorsese’s iconic 1976 film about a mentally unstable Vietnam veteran who makes his living as a cabbie in New York, attempts to date a campaign worker, and befriends an underage sex worker whom he tries to get out of the profession. Nominated for 4 Oscars and starring Robert De Niro, Cybill Shepherd and Jodie Foster. 

This session of Reel Chat will be joined by guest speaker Baron Misuraca of CINEMA CLASSIC, a highly unique film screening and discussion program featuring an entertaining film history presentation and a very lively audience conversation.

Reel Chat is not a high-brow film critique, rather a relaxed and informal conversation about the movie shown and an opportunity to have fun with other movie lovers.

HOW TO WATCH THE FILM:

  • If watching the film at the library, please arrive on time as the screening will begin promptly at 1pm.
  • If you plan to participate in only the discussion, please watch Taxi Driver on your own and then join the group discussion at 3:00pm on Thursday, June 13th. You can borrow Taxi Driver on DVD/BluRay through the Nassau Library System.
